Mr. Yongjin Lee is one of the Korea’s finest solo clarinetists who is also active as a chamber musician and conductor. He won the first prize in Seoul Asia International Competition 2005 and Mozartverein 1892.e.V in 2008. He obtained his Bachelor of Music at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea, in 2006 and Master of Music (Diplom) in Music and Performing from Hochschule fur Musik Nurnberg in Germany in 2008 and then completed Aufbaustudium with honor in Germany 2010.
While he studied in Germany, he performed with the world’s leading Pianist, Prof. Wolfgang Manz in Meistersinger Hall, St. Malta Kirche, Nuernberg Symphony Hall, and Gremanisch Museum Hall in 2009. He was the Principal Clarinetist at the Junge Muencher Philharmonie Orchestra and had a tour in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Czech Republic between 2008 and 2009 and also had a tour in Asia as a member of the Bayerische Philharmonie Orchestra between 2009 and 2010. Mr. Lee was also invited to BR-Klassik radio channel as a guest artist to play W. A. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto.
In 2010, Mr. Lee made his debut in Korea by performing W. A. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the Korea Soloists Orchestra in Seoul Arts Center IBK Chamber Hall. Since 2011, he has served as a conductor for the Baum Chamber Orchestra and multiple youth orchestra in the School of Arts. Besides his passion as a clarinetist, he is interested in fostering and inspiring young musicians (or young students) through his performances as a soloist and chamber musician as well as a conductor.
