Sangji Dunzhu, a member of the international clarinet Association, executive director of the China Clarinet Association and the director of Chinese clarinet society (Gansu Province Branch), vice president of the Gansu Musicians’ Association, vice president, clarinet art professor, Postgraduate Tutor of School of music of Northwest Minzu University.
He has learned from Mr. Yin Longxi of Qinghai Art School, famous clarinet educator Professor Jin Guangri of Minzu University of China, and Professor Chi Zheng, a famous Chinese clarinet performer and educator of Xi'an Conservatory of Music.
As a music educator and performer, Professor Sangji has been dedicated to music education and actively participates in various clarinet events. As a result, Sangji establishes good relationships with many domestic and international first-line clarinetists and educators. He has made outstanding contributions to clarinet performance and development in China.
In December 2014, Sangji was invited by Sichuan Conservatory of Music to hold the clarinet expert class and requested by China Conservatory of Music to deliver a lecture called “Clarinet Daily Practice and Skill Improvement”. In December 2015, he joined “The First Qingdao Province International Clarinet Master Class” as an expert and gave lectures to many Chinese students from numerous prestigious universities such as Juliet School of music, Central Conservatory of Music, China Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang School of music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Sangji’s instructions received great reviews from all students.
In recent years, Sangji has been invited to co-judge with many domestic and international clarinet performers and professors for many competitions including “Hongkong International Professional Clarinet Competition ” (2014), “Shanghai International Clarinet Professional Competition” (2017), the clarinet competition of the highest level of Chinese music competition “The Chinese Golden Bell award for Music” (Gansu Division, 2014), “Beijing International Clarinet Art Festival” (2014), “Buffy Crampon Clarinet Competition” of “Xian International Clarinet Art Festival” (2016), and other provincial and domestic music competitions. Moreover, Sangji participates in the judge work of the Chinese grading tests for Chinese Musicians Association and the province ministry of education.
Sangji has successfully held a number of solo concerts and clarinet comprehensive chamber music concerts. In addition, Sangji has performed with many famous musicians and delivered excellent shows.
In Sangji’s teaching career, a number of his students were admitted to famous domestic and international music universities such as Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Central Conservatory of Music, Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem, Mozart School of Music in Austria, Paris Higher Normal School of Music in France, Marseille Music Institute of France, and Boston School of music of America. Many of his students have won numerous prizes in provincial, national, and international competitions.
