About

"...one of the greatest clarinetists, concert generous, outstanding talent..." one critic speaks about Piero Vincenti. Vincenti was educated at the Italian School of Ciro Scarponi. He appeared in public at a very young age with very challenging recitals, showing a lot of talent in his first performances.

Vincenti played as a soloist and chamber musician in the most important theaters and Festivals in Europe, USA, South America, and Asia.

Marked by his innate instrumental versatility, he is welcomed everywhere with enthusiastic support from the public and critics. He performs on the entire clarinet family, from to the piccolo E-flat, to the G clarinet and basset horn, bass clarinet and contrabass, sometimes all in the same concert.

Vincenti has worked with many important composers, such as L. Berio, S. Bussotti, F. Donatoni, J. Francaix, G. Petrassi, and S. Sciarrino, who are considered among the most refined interpreters of the modern and contemporary music repertoire, and not only, also in international concert view.

He founded the Italian Clarinet Consort in 1980, the natural evolution of the Clarinet Ensemble of Ciro Scarponi, where he performed as the Eb clarinetist and Bb clarinet soloist, having worked with the clarinet choir for 40 years. Vincenti collaborated as a soloist with many orchestras in Italy, Europe, and South America. He recorded radio-television recordings and records and is a jury member for national and international competitions.

Vincenti leads masterclasses in Italy, Europe, USA, South America, and Asia, and he is a Professor at the National Conservatory of Music "B. Maderna" of Cesena in Italy.

In July 2014, in the “Principe de Asturia” International Summer School in Oviedo, the Spanish Queen Lady Letizia met him during his clarinet instruction.

He participated in many ClarinetFests: 2011-Los Angeles (California), 2012-Lincoln (Nebraska), 2014-Baton Rouge (Lousiana), 2015-Madrid (Spain), 2018-Ostenda (Belgium). Vincenti was a member of the jury of the International Competition for the Young Clarinetists' ICA.

Vincenti recorded two world premieres with Marsida Koni: “The Complete Works for Clarinet and Piano of A. Magnani" and “Ernesto Cavallini, the Prince of the Clarinet”.

In 2019 the label Aulicus Classics released his CD: "New Works for G Clarinet".

Founder and President of the Accademia Italiana del Clarinetto, he was Art Director of the ClarineFest2013 (40° edition) in Assisi (Italy) and of the 6° and 9° European Clarinet Festival 2016 and 2019 in Camerino (Italy).
