    Traditional Bell

So far my experience has been very positive. I never thought the bell would make that much of a difference in the overall sound. I was pleasantly surprised on how balanced and smooth my sound became.

    Grenadilla MOBA Bell & Barrel

My R13 Buffet is now 50 years old. I purchased a Buffet Festival 10 years ago as my main clarinet, but kept the R-13 since it had been picked for me by my teacher, Joseph Allard. The instrument seemed to have lost the "zing" it had when it was new, however, I decided to try the MOBA barrel and bell on it. It came to life again! I use it when I play in the Hanover Wind Symphony and when I play in pit orchestras. The bell makes going over the break much easier and increases projection as does the barrel (66+). The tone is darker than with the buffet barrel, and more mellow than with a Moenig barrel. Highly recommended and the wood itself is a work of art. The staff was very cordial and helpful on the phone, sending severl barrels for me to try. I use a fat boy cocobolla on the Festival.

You have to hear it to believe it!

I had heard (and read) many people say that a different bell wouldn't change, let alone improve, my sound all that much. My cocobolo MoBa Studio bell has just proven them wrong, at least in my case. Not only does my clarinet (Yamaha VR) sound even better, "woodier", but it now has the kind of projection I had been looking for. The difference was instantly noticeable, by musicians and non musicians alike. I have to add that everybody also noticed the "look" of the bell : a work of art! Now I'm wondering what a MoBa barrel could do... Looks like I'm hooked!
