The European Cut (also known as the Euro Signature) for Clarinet is Légère's most flexible reed. The unique profile design allows for a bright, colourful yet warm and clean sound. It responds without hesitation and easily glides from the low registers to the high registers of the instrument.
Its ease of playing is the reason why this reed is used by so many Légère Endorsing Artists. This reed is preferred by advanced and professional clarinetists worldwide.
The Vocalise series of mouthpieces by Hawkins and Backun were optimized to work exceptionally well with synthetic reeds, such as the European Cut.
Packaging varies from time-to-time, depending on what is available from Légère. There is no way to guarantee that reeds will ship with new packaging, as shown in the image provided.
Note: For health and safety reasons, reeds purchased on our website are final sale. For after-purchase support or exchange, please contact Légère Reeds Ltd. directly. No exceptions.

I love these reeds! The days of spending hours fixing cane reeds are over and so are all those uncomfortable practice sessions with sub-par reeds. I will say it took some experimentation to find a set up that produced a sound I like. I think these reeds pair well with the vocalize mouthpiece but everyone is different. For me, the switch to legere reeds had made clarinet playing so much more enjoyable.
I love the Legere Reeds. There's no shaving them or breaking them in. They are ready to go right out of the box.
This is my first experience with synthetic Reeds and so far they have not disappointed. I usually use 2 1/2 Vandoren reeds, but I appreciate the Legere being ready to use without soaking or break in periods. They are responsive to tonguing, and produce a bright open sound. My only complaint is that the highest register is a little flat. I ordered the 2 1/2 Legere and might try going up a 1/4 step and see if that remedies the situation.
Hi Susan, I'm pleased to hear you're enjoying your reeds! You're right, if the tuning gets a bit flat you might want to try a harder strength. Legere has a great exchange program, but you'll need to contact them directly and have your original purchase receipt to do so. Thank you!
These reeds play much better than wood reeds. Will not go back!
I think the European Cut for Clarinet is outstanding. I use a 3.75 reed and it does everything that I want it to do. The only thing I don’t care for is the packaging. I wrote to Legere about this and they responded. It seems this is their newest packaging and they are proud of it. It is not good but the reeds are great.
I'm overall very happy with this reed. It wasn't a different as I thought it would be compared to the last time I used a synthetic reed. It is still a bit different though after playing on it for a decent amount of hours. Still gonna have to get used to it, but it'll be nice that I won't have to compensate for the amount of change that happens with a cane reed.
