About
Principal Clarinet of the Berner Symphonieorchester he studied at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Alessandro Carbonare, at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel with François Benda, completing both the Master’s in Performance and the Master Soloist with distinction.
A prizewinner of the “Marco Fiorindo,” “Saverio Mercadante,” and “Giacomo Mensi” international competitions, he has also received awards from the Marianne and Curt Dienemann Foundation, the Fondation Nica+ de Luze, and the Rahn Kulturfonds.
He has performed with ensembles including the Orchestra Nazionale dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia, the Zurich Opera House Orchestra, the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, working with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniele GaR, Riccardo Mu+, Christoph Eschenbach, Heinz Holliger, and Vladimir Jurowski.
As a soloist, he has appeared with the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, and the Berner Symphonieorchester. His recordings are released on Concerto Classics Milano, Tactus, and Claves Records, and he is regularly invited to teach orchestral studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel.
