About
Born in Tavernes de la Valldigna, Valencia, Bernardo Moreno Bertomeu is a distinguished clarinetist and educator. He graduated with honors from the Conservatorio Superior de Música ‘Joaquín Rodrigo’ in Valencia.
With a strong dedication to music education, he has taught clarinet, chamber music, and musical language at various institutions across the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha. Since 2004, he has served as a professor at the ‘Marcos Redondo’ Professional Conservatory of Music in Ciudad Real, having earned the position through competitive examination.
As a performer, he has been a clarinetist with several prestigious orchestras, including the Orquesta Sinfónica La Valldigna (1998–2007), the Orquesta Lírica de España (Madrid), and the Orquesta de Cámara ‘Orfeo’ (Ciudad Real). He is currently a member of the Orquesta Castilla-La Mancha Sinfónica.
Bernardo has made significant contributions to clarinet repertoire, with several of his works published by Editorial MusicVall. He has also premiered pieces composed in his honor, including Rituel de L'eau by J. Luís Sánchez and Monólogo by F. Villanueva.
In addition to his performance and teaching career, he is a certified music therapist, having earned his qualification from Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid in 2018.
His expertise has been recognized internationally—he was recently invited to the V Tenerife Clarinet Fest, where he served as a jury member for the III International Clarinet and Bass Clarinet Competition ‘Antonio Sosa’ Villa de Candelaria. He has also participated in numerous national and international competitions and has led masterclasses across Spain, Italy, and at the University of Kansas (USA).
