I just got a new Backun Beta Clarinet to improve my tone and sound more. I replaced it with a Buffet Crampon Premium that was a student clarinet that I got for Christmas a year ago. And now I've improved with the new Beta Clarinet. THANKS A LOT BACKUN FAMILY!!!!!

I'm upgrading to my first wooden clarinet, playing at the college level. After narrowing my choices down to 3 (Yamaha 550 Allegro, Buffet E12F, and Backun Beta), I tried them all side by side. I choose the Backun Beta for the best overall tone, resistance, and feel. My private instructor, on a blind listen to my trial, also recommended the Backun, with the Yamaha as a close second. What made the Backun Beta a certainty for me was the warm, rich, chocolately tone. All I could have hoped for.
I can’t wait to break in my new clarinet, it is beautiful and I love the sound. After playing for nine years on a student clarinet, this backun is the perfect choice for upgrading to a wooden instrument for the college band setting.

I've retired, and wanted to get back to playing the clarinet, which I loved in Junior High School. I had a used Leblanc Noblet then, which was fine for a kid. When I got out of school it was loaned to someone in the family and never returned. I bought a used Normandy about 25 years ago, until I loaned it to my niece for school band. I did get it back, but I had never loved it, and so didn't play it at all upon its return. Now is the time to return to the clarinet, and what better gift to myself than a new Beta?!! This one won't be loaned to anyone, ever. It's so beautiful, I can't wait to play her. I am filled with joy, just from the anticipation! I'm grateful to the online support provided these days, and especially to Michelle Anderson, Clarinet Mentor.
This horn is fabulous. the middle notes of a, b flat and g are just in tune, no need to put down any other fingers to change the intonation. high notes are a breeze

This is a simple fix that they can perform for a nominal fee. If purchased from an Authorized Backun Dealer, they should also be able to assist you.
I'm a high school student, and this has been my first wooden clarinet purchase. I absolutely love playing on it, it's made it so much easier and more enjoyable for me to pick it up and practice. Thanks Backun!

The Backun Beta Clarinet has been nothing but pure joy to play. It plays and feels more like a professional clarinet than a student model. Would definitely recommend this clarinet or any other Backun to any clarinetist.
It is a pretty good clarinet.
It is my first wooden clarinet. It is heavier than the plastic beginner clarinet I was used to which hurts my right wrist a little bit. Something to adjust to. The instrument itself is beautiful and produces a wonderful, warm tone.
I have been using a really old Selmer intermediate (grenadilla) model and as soon as I put my Beta together with the MoBa barrel, I was blown away by the quality of your keys, tone and intonation. I will be breaking in my Beta clarinet properly before putting away my Selmer clarinet.
Me enteré por la propia tienda, ya que soy cliente habitual. Se me estropeó mi anterior instrumento y me dejaron un Backun Alfa para probarlo y salir del apuro. Ese día tenía un concierto en la calle con música ligera. Pese a ser un Alfa, me llamó mucho la atención la facilidad de respuesta, tanto en la parte grave como en la aguda.
