What a difference!!!

From the moment I started to use the barrel on my clarinet I felt the response change. My sound was bigger and brighter but still able to slide down to soft easily. Intonation was even throughout the range including the Altissimo. Highly recommend this upgrade

Loud and rich tone

My first impression is that it does deliver what it says ! I have a simple student clarinet and thu barrel did wonder to upgrade the sound so much. Can’t wait to use it on an actual wooden clarinet !! Definitely recommend it and will buy other barres as well!

Fits well on a Yamaha Duet+

It has a lovely sound and really punches up the volume on my Yamaha.

Love It!

I ordered the fat boy barrel and vocalise mouth piece and love my new sound and how easy it is to play with the legere synthetic reeds.

Backun Fatboy+ Cocabola

I recently purchased a Backun Fatboy+ barrel in cocabola to pair with my Buffet R13 clarinet and Vandoren 5JB mouthpiece. Wow! This barrel really opened up the sound and responsiveness of my horn. Being primarily a saxophonist, I'm used to more open mouthpieces and free blowing response. With the Backun Fatboy, switching from sax to clarinet is much more comfortable and natural feeling. The stuffiness is gone, and I feel like I have a setup that responds the way I'm used to having my saxes respond. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Fatboy barrel if you're looking for a more open, responsive experience with your clarinet. Great work, Backun!

Fattening the sound with Fatboy

The Fatboy large-bore barrel added to my Buffet R-13 reduces resistance, improves midrange tone, and overall increases the instrument's projection. As a sax player doubling on clarinet, usually in large groups, I really appreciate all of these enhancements.
