Merkourio Karalis is a member of the Athens State Orchestra and Armonia Atenea, as well as the Solo Clarinetist at the Athens Radio Orchestra. He graduated from the Athens National Conservatory and the Hochschule der Künste Zürich (Orchestra diploma- Soloist diploma). He is a national scholar and prize award winner in several clarinet competitions, such as the Saverio Mercadante International Clarinet Competition in 2007. He is also a professor at the Athens National Conservatory.
