About
Having graduated from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music Department of Orchestra Instruments in Guangzhou, Li Mengyao has studied with Professor Wang Lihui.
In 2014, Li founded the Time of Vacation clarinet ensemble and was invited to perform at the China Chongqing International Clarinet Arts Festival. The ensemble performed an original recomposition, which received high appraisal from domestic and international experts. Both in 2019 and 2021, Li Mengyao served as the judge for the Southern China percussion and wind instrument competitions. In April 2019, Li complied and published Clarinet Ensemble Collection for Teaching with Chongqing University Press. In July 2019, led by Li, the Wings•Guangzhou Ke La Elf Clarinet Ensemble won the first prize (Philharmonic Orchestra division) at the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition, and Li herself was awarded Outstanding Instructor. In August 2021, Li again led the group and won the Champion as well as the Outstanding Instructor awards.
Currently, Li Mengyao is a clarinet teacher at the Police Wind Orchestras of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and Guangdong Police College.
