About

Daniel Belloví is a renowned Spanish bass clarinetist and Backun artist, focusing on promoting the bass clarinet as a solo instrument, in chamber music, and through lectures and masterclasses. He is a member of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Valencia (Spain) and has collaborated with orchestras such as the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and professional bands such as the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid, the Municipal Band of Bilbao, the Municipal Band of Vitoria, and more.

He has performed solo concerts with Professional Orchestras and Music Bands in Spain, Europe and Asia, highlighting his collaborations with the Huelva Classical Orchestra, Rafelbunyol Orchestra, Alicante Municipal Band, Castellón Municipal Band, Vitoria Municipal Band, Badajoz Municipal Band, Koninkiljke Harmonie Sint Cecilie de Schelle- Belgium, Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra, Györ Symphonic Band, Regiment Band Inmemorial del Rey de Madrid, The International Clarinets, “Bruno Maderna” Clarinet Consort, Clarinet Ensemble “Arundo Toulon Méditérranée”, Labacie Bass Clarinet Ensemble, etc. At the same time, he has been part of various chamber groups, such as “MaBC Duo”, “Trio Sunhori”, “Valencia String Quartet”, “Levare Clarinet Quartet”, “Dúo Cárdenas - Belloví”, “Assamble Debussy”, “Duo Antwerp”, “L'Ensemble”.

After completing his advanced studies in clarinet in Spain, he moved to Belgium to further his studies at the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium in Antwerp under the tutelage of Professor Jan Guns, obtaining a Master's Degree in his principal instrument, the Bass Clarinet.

He has received clarinet lessons from prestigious teachers such as José Cerveró, Bertram Egger, Walter Boeykens and Florian Popa among others, studying bass clarinet with the best bass clarinetists of the moment such as Jan Guns, Josef Horak, Henri Bok and Jan Marc Volta, receiving advice from Harry Sparnaay.

In the pedagogical field, Daniel has worked for several years as a Clarinet teacher at the Conservatorio Profesional "José Iturbi" in Valencia and at the Accademia Internazionale Umberto Giordano di Foggia in Italy. He is regularly invited to give lectures and masterclasses at conservatories and music schools in Europe such as the Academy of Music and Performing Arts "Fontys" in Tilburg, Holland, KASK & Conservatorium School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium, Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Bruno Maderna" in Italy, École de Musique de Sollies Toucas in France, Conservatorio

Daniel has premiered more than 50 new compositions for Bass Clarinet in close collaboration with important composers such as Ferrer Ferran, José Alamá, Josep Roda, Pere Sanz, Ramón García, Manuel Morcillo, Mónica Cárdenas, Pascual Piqueras, Eduardo Nogueroles, Miguel Hernándis, Xavi Zamorano, Díaz Yerro, Chris Hung, Eva Lopszyc, Bart Vestraeten, etc. He has premiered the Bass Clarinet concertos "Con Cierto Sentido" by José Alamá, "The Castle of Dr. Bassclar" by Ferrer Ferran, "Impresiones Dialogantes" by Juan Meseguer; and also the double concertos for Bass Clarinet, Marimba and Symphonic Band/Orchestra "Farnese Bridge" by Ramón García and "Spanish Dreams" by Pere Sanz, as well as “Tarango” Symphonic Impressions for Bass Clarinet, Clarinet and Symphonic Band by David Rivas, “Evolution” Concerto for Bass Horn and Band by Juan Meseguer, etc.

Daniel has been invited to various festivals and competitions, such as the European Clarinet Congress 2023 in Tilburg (Netherlands), the 5th European Clarinet Festival in Ghent (Belgium), the 10th European Clarinet Festival in Györ (Hungary), Belgian Music Days in Leuven in 2018, the 33rd Canary Islands International Music Festival (FIMC), ClariPerú Bass Clarinet Week 2022, the 25th and 30th COSICOVA Composers Meetings in Valencia (Spain), the Ruta de les Ermites d’Altea, the Alto Palancia Free Expression Festival (FLESAP) in Segorbe (Spain), the XXXIII International Music Week in Bermeo (Spain), the International Music Cycle in Castilla y León (Spain), the 1st Iberian Bass Clarinet Competition “Llíria Ciutat Creativa”, the 2nd Latin American Bass Clarinet Competition in Peru, and the 3rd National Clarinet Competition “Llíria Creative City”, among others.
