About

Piotr Thieu Quang is a chamber musician and the Principal Clarinetist of the Orchestra of Polish Radio in Warsaw. He regularly performs at national and international festivals. In 2018, together with Maria Leszczyńska-Thieu (cello) and Paweł Popko (piano), he co-founded the Warsaw Trio. In 2023, the ensemble made its debut at the Spiegelzaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Castellum Theatre in Alphen aan den Rijn.

Piotr is also a member of the Popko/Thieu-Quang duo. Together, they have performed many times in Poland and abroad with wide variety of repertoire including classical pieces, modern music, and their own arrangements.

Piotr Thieu Quang graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 2021. He was also studying historical clarinet with Igor Frantisak at the Ostrava University.

He has performed in concert halls such as: the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Radio in Katowice, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, and the Krzysztof Penderecki European Center for Music in Luslawice. In 2019, he had a concert tour with the South Africa Quintessence Ensemble in collaboration with musicians from South Africa and Poland. Recently, he has participated in the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Thisted (Denmark) where he played together with musicians such as Annette von Hehn, Daniel Blumenthal, and Alexander Gebert.
