Lu Xiaobin is from Shanghai and he is a clarinet performer at the China National Symphony Orchestra. Lu is also the Honorary Professor at the China Conservatory of Music and the music counselor for the Chinese Gymnastics Team.

In grade five, when Lu’s family was relocated in Sichuan, Lu met with Professor Xin Xuezhi, who is the leading authority in clarinet academia. Having shown great interest in music, Lu passed the test and stepped on the clarinet learning path under Professor Xin’s instruction. Lu has been exploring this path for over 30 years. After graduating from primary school, Lu enrolled in three middle schools, the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School, Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Sichuan Conservatory of Music Middle School. Lu then went to Beijing and to study with Professor Tao Chunxiao and Professor Huang Yuanfu. Later, Lu was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music and ranked first in the entrance exam.

After graduating from university, Lu was invited by the famous conductor and professor, Zheng Xiaoying, and joined the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra as their Principal Clarinetist and department head of Wind Instruments. In 2000, Lu was enrolled in the China National Symphony Orchestra as their clarinetist and bass clarinetist and later accompanied the Russian National Orchestra in a show as the only Chinese artist. Holding his passion for clarinet career, Lu Xiaobin continues to tour around the world with China National Symphony Orchestra. Lu cherishes each of the opportunities and take them as the chances to showcase Chinese arts to the world.
