Q Series Bb Clarinet

Fit and Sizing Chart
  • Classic feel and playability

The Q Series clarinet offers those who prefer a more traditional French-style instrument the chance to experience the world of Backun. We combine modern manufacturing techniques and treatments, including a carbon fibre middle joint ring, with classic grenadilla wood and silver-plated key work to produce an instrument with truly familiar feel and playability.

Inline trill keys help reduce condensation accumulation, and precision under- and over-cut tone holes ensure impeccable intonation and response. An affordable masterpiece, the Q Series is the classic choice.

Great sounding and easy playing clarinet

The Q series clarinet has a really nice rich tone. I have a clarinet by another major brand, and I like the Backun much better.

Still Getting Used to It

It plays very differently from my R13 and I'm still getting used to it. I I think it may require some adjustments to get it dialed in.

It's Good!

I just got mine today, the instrument has impeccable fit and finish, it plays in tune throughout the entire register, even on the throat tones, and its super easy to play. Well worth the money, especially in comparison to similarly priced instruments from other manufactures.

Solid Design and Build

So far so great, after a week of playing only 15 minutes a day (recommended break-in), I'm feeling more and more comfortable with this instrument. The tuning is close to perfect right out of the box and the altissimo register requires less effort than my old horn. I have tried a couple of other horns (different manufacturer) and they all needed adjustment or had intonation problems. The fit and finish appear fine so far. My only disappointment is the high schoolish backpack case. If there was an option for a more professional case, I would have ordered one.

I have never played a clarinet like this, just superb in every way, a revolution in design and quality.
