Stephen Ahearn

Stephen Ahearn joined the Dallas Symphony in the fall of 2012. Prior to moving to Dallas, he served as Acting Second and E Clarinetist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Bass Clarinetist with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, and as the principal clarinetist of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra. Stephen has appeared as a guest of the Philadelphia Orchestra; and at Carnegie Hall, the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, and at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology and music from the University of Richmond, and a master of music degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. His teachers include Todd Levy, Ricardo Morales, David Weber and David Niethamer. He is a D’Addario Winds Performing Artist and a Backun Clarinet Artist.
