It depends which model you choose. Our student and intermediate instruments (the Alpha and Beta) do you come with a mouthpiece, but our professional instruments (Protégé, Model F, Model Q, MoBa, CG Carbon) do not. This is because most professional players already have a preferred mouthpiece, and this is the industry standard for professional clarinets.
As such, if you would a mouthpiece with your professional instrument you are welcome to choose from our world-class selection of mouthpieces, but please note it will cost extra.
Key plating does not, in our experience, have an effect on the sound of the clarinet. However, some players feel differently about this and we encourage you to discover for yourself by trying our different models.
We offer a variety of key platings because some players might prefer the feel or appearance of on plating or another. Also, some experience allergies to certain metals and it's important to us that everyone can play the clarinet if they want to.
The Backun Voicing Groove was designed to improve register changes throughout the clarinet, including the clarion register. It is our experience that most clarinets benefit from this feature, though some specific models do not need this feature due to their inherent design.

Yes! Please use a small drop of key oil as you would with any other clarinet. If you're not comfortable doing this, please ask your local repair person to perform this task quarterly as part of your routine maintenance.
